Orthodoxy (1908) is a book by G. K. Chesterton that has become a classic of Christian apologetics. The book was written when Chesterton was an Anglican. He converted to Catholicism 14 years later. Chesterton chose the title Orthodoxy to focus instead on the plainness of the Apostles’ Creed, through he admitted the general sound of the title was “a thinnish sort of thing”

The theology of poverty located in Luke 6: 21 had been interpreted in the Christian faith tradition as a message of God’s vindication of the poor and the judgment of the wicked. Traditional interpretation has negated the imperial connotation that exists within the theology of poverty due to the imperial situation within which the text emerged.
