He likes the giant print and the size! Review: Great quality, lots of features, highly recommended! – This NIV bible is great. It has ALL the features I was looking for in a bible, and this was actually pretty hard to find. Here are the features that were very important to me: – the font is large and clear – it has double-columns without any distracting bars or text between the columns – the maps are of good quality – the thumb-indexes are helpful – the gold gilding is beautiful – the “leather” cover feels and looks good – the book lays flat and stays open without having to hold it open with your hand – the two ribbons are useful and their colors look nice with the cover – the red font for Jesus’ words is useful – the organization of the text is very readable. It uses headings to describe the topic of upcoming verses, and it groups together related verses in such a way that it looks and reads like a normal paragraph – it doesn’t have a bunch of unnecessary breaks and spaces between verses It is a little pricey, but often times you get what you pay for. It was very hard to find this configuration of features. I did find two other bibles that had most of the same features as this one, but they all lacked something. I bought all three of the bibles I could find with a similar configurations of features, but the others all lacked something or executed certain features poorly. They didn’t or couldn’t describe what I am talking about, these were things that you could only really find out by holding the actual book and looking closely at it. This is the one!
